亲爱的儿子,

呼啦呼啦,这个学期就过完啦。按照你的规律,在每个上学的早上都是睡得起不了床,可是到了周末或者放假,有人则刚过六点就起来溜达。今早,这个规律继续工作,那爹正刮胡子准备出门谋生儿子已经跑过来拥抱。

以下,根据学校报告,讲评:

Development of Social and Self-Management Skills

Huazhi continues to gain self-confidence and is becoming more of a risk-taker by sharing his opinions
and feeling more often during class discussions. He is becoming more conscientious in his work and shows pride in his ability to use his growing knowledge and skills to accomplish tasks independently. Huazhi’s self-management skills continue to develop. He continues to need encouragement to use his time effectively, so he can complete all assignments in a timely manner. I often guide Huazhi to choose the best place to sit so that he can fully concentrate on the task at hand, rather than get distracted by those around him. Huazhi is a friendly student and gets along well with his peers. He has good social skills and cooperates well with others when working in partner and group work situations. Well done, Huaizhi.

日益自信,存在问题是需要更为有效的利用时间完成任务。

Transdisciplinary Theme: Sharing the Planet

Huazhi showed an appreciation towards plants and our environment during this unit of inquiry. He demonstrated a good understanding of the central idea by identifying how plants benefit his family by giving them fruit, vitamins, and oxygen. Huazhi showed that he is knowledgeable about how plants need sun, water and soil to grow. One of the problems affecting plants in our world that he was able to identify was how trees are being cut down in the forests. He thought a solution to this problem could be to tell others to stop cutting down trees. Throughout this unit, Huazhi demonstrated a caring attitude by observing and recording changes in his own plant, and watering it carefully to help it grow.

本学期学习重点之一,孩子学习到了如何去关注环境,并认为需要通过停止砍伐树木的办法来更好地保护植被。

Transdisciplinary Theme: How We Organize Ourselves

Huazhi used his thinking skills throughout this unit of inquiry by working with his partner to research information about the metro system in Rome, Italy. He shared responsibility to answer each question and organize the information they found. Huazhi showed enthusiasm during this unit of inquiry when we took the field trip out to view the different transportation systems in Phnom Penh and enjoyed sharing his gained knowledge from the trip during our class discussions afterwards.Huazhi demonstrated a basic understanding of the central idea when he designed his own town map with air and land transportation systems, which included a road and train system, but he needed guidance with explaining reasons for his transportation choices

另一学习重点,交通系统。基本理解了这个系统并绘制自己包含有空中,地面交通系统,道路,铁路系统的城市地图。老师认为此人需要一些引导来说明其系统的设置选择。

Transdisciplinary Theme: Where We Are in Place and Time

At the time of reporting students are still inquiring into Shelters. Huazhi showed curiosity when he listened attentively and asked questions during our class discussion about hutongs in China. Huazhi was an inquirer when he researched with support to find out what different types of shelters there are in the Philippines, Pakistan and France and what resources people use to build their shelters. Huazhi is beginning to understand that factors such as location, climate and resources influence the shelters built. He demonstrated this knowledge when he explained that people choose the materials to make their houses based on what kinds of resources are available around them.

学习重点之居住场所。孩子通过学习,最后利用在院子里捡到的一块大砖头做了一个BEIJING BRICK HOUSE的房子,哈哈,这个从没去过北京的人。

LANGUAGE

Huazhi enjoys reading a variety of texts in his free time. He can read challenging texts with confidence, using a variety of strategies to help him figure out unknown words. He can make good predictions and answer questions by providing examples from texts during class read aloud times, but needs guidance to retell stories in sequential order from beginning to end. Huazhi also continues to need some encouragement to stop and reflect on what he has read, in order to make more meaningful and personal connections with the texts. Huazhi’s writing skills continue to develop. He is a confident speller and can use his knowledge of phonics and word patterns to help him spell unfamiliar words. He continues to work on the size of his writing and the use of punctuation marks and capital letters. He has many creative ideas and can write 3-5 sentences independently, but needs encouragement to use his time wisely and finish his writing assignments on time.

语言能力。此人喜欢阅读,能自信尝试对他具备挑战的阅读材料。但是对故事的复述能力需要加强。书写能力持续发展,但是作为一个小小发呆手,时间运用不合理,貌似有时没有按照完成书写练习。

MATHEMATICS

Huazhi continues to make good progress in mathematics and enjoys all the learning engagements. He has a solid
understanding of the mathematical concepts taught this semester. Huazhi can demonstrate the process of sharing
quantities of up to 24 objects and use repeated addition to find the total of groups of twos, threes, fours and fives. He understands place value concepts and can represent and identify the value of tens and ones. Huazhi is confident with adding and subtracting numbers within 10 through mental recall and can count on to add a single digit number to any two digit number. He can also mentally find 10 more or less of any number within 100. Huazhi is capable of solving simple word problems independently and uses manipulatives and draws pictures to show his thinking. Huazhi is able to draw, name and describe features of 2D and 3D shapes. He is proficient with telling time to the hour。

数学能力进步良好,对于本学习学习的数学概念有扎实理解。

另外还有体育,电脑,音乐,艺术等等,不再列举。。。。。。

总之,基本上你爹妈的钱没有白花,你有进步,但也还需要继续进步。加油儿子,我们爱你!
